Some Girls – a book for all girls

Comedian extraordinaire, mum and soon-to-be-author Nelly Thomas launched her Pozible campaign yesterday to help fund publication of her new book Some Girls. She’s a quarter of the way to hitting her target in under 24 hours – great news!

She wrote Some Girls because she has two very different little girls: one is into pink and Barbie dolls, the other loves Power Rangers, short hair and dressing up as Darth Vader. Guess which one gets bullied?

Some Girls shows that all girls – of every colour, race and religion, able-bodied and not, tall, short and everything in between – are brilliant just the way they are. A book for boys will follow in 2018.

The ever-amazing P!nk said it perfectly to her six-year-old daughter in her VMAs acceptance speech this week: “We don’t change.. we help other people change so that they can see more kinds of beauty.” Quite right.
